Position Specific Description

This position is part of the BOS Analytics & Automation team that is responsible for delivering analytical solutions, operational insights, and process automation to support the daily operations and strategic initiatives of the Billing Operations & Support group in Customer Service.

The focus is developing and maintaining reports, dashboards, scripts, and automation tools that enable the billing operations team to monitor performance, identify issues, and make data-driven decisions. There are also opportunities to support cross-functional testing efforts and provide data consultation for emerging project needs.

The ideal candidate must have strong experience in data querying and analysis, proficiency in dashboard development and data visualization, excellent communication skills to translate technical concepts for business audiences, and a collaborative mindset to work effectively across teams. The ability to support operational needs while contributing to strategic projects is essential.


Work Schedule:

- This is a full-time position.

- Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with occasional extended hours, as necessary.


Job Overview

Employees in this position define, develop, test, analyze, and maintain software to help the business unit improve reliability, and drive efficiencies. This position works individually, and as part of a team using best practices in software development methodologies. Employees collaborate with other areas to understand requirements and drive continuous improvement of Smart Grid software applications.


Job Duties & Responsibilities

- Supports daily system operations within a specify discipline on a continual basis

- Writes, translates, and codes software programs and applications consistently to specifications and development standards per specific discipline

- Writes programming scripts to enhance functionality and/or performance of company applications as necessary

- Assists in defining software development project plans, including scopes, schedules, and implementation

- Liaises with network administrators, systems analysts, database administrators, external vendors, and software engineers to assist in resolving problems with software products or company software systems

- Develops an understanding of relevant system administration tasks including backup/recovery of systems and disaster recovery

- Designs, runs and monitors software performance tests on new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging

- Conducts research on emerging application development software products, languages, and standards in support of procurement, development and maintenance efforts

- Meets attendance and storm duty requirements and has the ability to work extended hours

- Performs other job-related duties as assigned


Required Qualifications

- High School Grad / GED

- Bachelor’s or Equivalent Experience

- Experience: 1+ years


Preferred Qualifications

- Master’s Degree

- Six Sigma Master Black Belt

- Six Sigma Black Belt

- Six Sigma Green Belt

- Six Sigma Yellow Belt
