Professional Land Surveyor - PLS

Position Overview:

This role offers a unique opportunity to not only oversee technical operations but also help grow a critical segment of our business. You'll serve as a trusted advisor, a mentor, and a technical expert—ensuring excellence at every step, from the field to final deliverables.

Gateway is seeking a licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving and growing Gateway’s construction staking business. You'll oversee technical work, review survey deliverables, and play an active part in quality assurance. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about producing high-quality surveying work.

Key Responsibilities:

· Collaborate with project managers to supervise field crews and ensure all work meets Oklahoma Minimum Standards.

· Grow and manage constructions staking business.

· Conduct legal and record research to support ongoing projects.

· Review and verify survey data for accuracy and regulatory compliance.

· Perform quality control reviews on plats; sign and seal documents as required.

· Participate in weekly project meetings to provide updates and technical input.

· Offer technical office support to crew chiefs and CAD technicians.

Qualifications:

· Must be a licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in the state of Oklahoma.

· 2–5 years of professional surveying experience required.

· Experience working with customers.

· Background in construction staking.

· Proficiency in Civil 3D preferred (willing to provide training if needed).

· Field surveying experience is essential.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).

· Strong organizational and time-management skills.

· Ability to lift up to 25 lbs as part of normal duties.

· Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

· Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
