Wolverine Corporation is looking for a Supervisor to handle the day-to-day operation of its metal fabrication department in Stevensville, Michigan. This position reports to the Plant Manager and is responsible for production on all shifts. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity in a manufacturing/metal forming environment. Stevensville runs turrets, press brakes, and subassemblies for the small appliance industry.
Communicate with management to establish production and quality standards. Maintain budget and cost controls, and obtain data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered.
Plan and direct production activities and establish priorities for products.
Coordinate production activities with materials/purchasing, customer service, maintenance, tooling, and quality assurance activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.
Review and analyze production, quality, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications, and operating or production problems.
Develop and implement operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality.
Revise production schedule and priorities as a result of equipment or operating problems or customer needs.
Coordinate with appropriate departments relative to modification of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products.
Promote and maintain 5S practices throughout the production area. Participate in the deployment of lean tools, practices, and principles including visual factory, kaizen events, QDC/SMED, and process flow improvements.
Train and mentor back-up supervisors on all shifts.
