Summary
As a Department Supervisor in Manufacturing, you will oversee daily operations and lead a team to achieve production goals. This role is pivotal in driving continuous improvement and ensuring efficient workflow.
Responsibilities:
•Oversee and assign duties to all indirect and direct workers within their assigned departments and shifts, including time and attendance metrics
•Collaborate with Shop Floor Manager and other departments to adequately staff resources
•Ensure employees are trained and cross-trained within the department’s capabilities
•Communicate management directives to department employees
•Prepare employee work schedules and execute the production plan by using dispatch lists, production schedules, and information from Production Control via the ERP system
•Maintain and improve quality and efficiency of subordinates
•Expedite workflow with Production Control when needed while ensuring adherence to standard work procedures
•Enforce all company policies and procedures (HR, inventory control, safety, quality, environmental, work procedures, data integrity, etc.)
•Maintain company culture through positive mentoring and resolve grievances through disciplinary action, in collaboration with management, when required
•Maintain positive relationship with Production Control, Engineering, Sales, and Project Managers to set up and maintain production lines to achieve quoted times and quality
•Implement and maintain continuous improvement, LEAN, and 5S programs
•Responsible for achieving and delivering department KPI reports to department employees and management: Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost/Efficiency, Attendance, etc.
Qualifications and Skills:
•Associate degree preferred, High school diploma or equivalent required, 6 years of manufacturing and/or management experience, or adequate combination of education and experience
•Formal training in ISO, Continuous Improvement, LEAN, and 5S preferred
•Displays effective leadership capabilities
•Ability to read blueprints and drawings
•Knowledge of safety protocols and guidelines in a manufacturing setting
•Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and handle multiple priorities effectively
•Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and tasks at a moment’s notice
•Extremely organized and focused on effective time management
•Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities
•Superior written and oral communication skills
•Experience in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
Work Schedule:
•Monday - Friday, 6:30 am - 3:00 pm
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of the job the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk, hear, or smell. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with occasional loud noises. A representative wage range is included in this posting. Final wage will be based on experience.
