Title: Wafer Production Shift Supervisor Location: Cartersville, GA
SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced Production Shift Supervisor to oversee our production operations. By monitoring employees and organizing workflows, this role will successfully carry out responsibilities to ensure manufacturing runs smoothly. The supervisor reports to the Operations Manager and oversees the duties of the production area, including shared accountability of a specific portion of an operations function. This role is responsible for managing labor on the shift, monitoring operator performance, and maintaining training records according to the company’s policies and procedures. This role will participate in problem-solving, associate engagement, and addressing issues on the line. The Production Shift Supervisor must be able to perform all machine operator duties as required. The overall goal of this position is to ensure an efficient and productive manufacturing process that meets customer requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyze cause of declining performance and establish improvement plans.
- Check daily raw materials and production wafer in progress.
- Manage production quality by process and execute Out-of-Control Action Plan (OCAP).
- Manage material usage of consumable items, production materials, etc.
- Manage coordination of cleaning supplies and laundries.
- Request and report purchase of necessary goods and disposal of disused materials.
- Manage hourly employees for each shift while working day and night shifts.
- Assign and request number of operations and technicians needed for each process.
- Ensure safe and efficient workplace environment is provided to designated operators including tools, training, or relations.
- Conduct daily meeting with designated operators.
- Report any occurrence of abnormal quality production in the process.
- Supervise coordination between quality improvement activities and production operations.
- Establish improvement plans to minimize quality issues caused by human errors.
- Execute appropriate countermeasures to process safety issues.
- Safety issue assessment to evaluate response actions and possible improvements.
- Ensure cleanliness of process production area.
- Collaborate with other members of the Wafer Equipment Team and relevant departments to coordinate maintenance activities and ensure a holistic approach to facility management.
- Comply with environmental, health, and safety regulations of Hanwha QCELLS.
- Responsible to respond to factory in an emergency of all environmental failures, powers, water, fires, or security issues when needed.
- Able to communicate with all levels of organization. i.e., operations, technicians, shift leaders, supervisors, engineering and management staff, state and local inspectors, and outside contractors.
- Regularly report to the team manager and production supervisor on operational progress and issues.
- All other duties as assigned by management.
- Associate’s degree in science or related engineering field.
- 5 years in a manufacturing process engineering.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in leadership position.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in production management.
- General knowledge of semiconductor production processes (preferred).
- Basic ability using process equipment.
- Basic computer skills of SQL and MS Office to collect data.
- In-depth knowledge of environmental, health, and safety regulations applicable to a manufacturing factory.
- Experience in ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
