The 2nd Shift Production / CNC Operator plays a critical role in Metal Powder Work’s production operations by running CNC lathe-based equipment to convert metal bar stock into powdered metal products.
This role is ideal for a CNC operator who values precision, independence, safety, and collaboration with engineering. You’ll work with advanced processes, contribute to R&D initiatives, and help bring new materials to market, not just repeat the same part every day.
You’ll play a hands-on role in our production process, operating and supporting Haas CNC machine tools used in metal powder manufacturing.
- Operate, monitor, and adjust Haas-based CNC equipment
- Perform insert changes, offset adjustments, and job changeovers
- Complete machine setups and teardowns as needed
- Maintain consistent quality while meeting production goals
You’ll help ensure our materials meet exacting standards through.
- Handle and post-process metal powders (training provided)
- Accurately track and document production runs and results
- Perform basic inspections and flag process or quality variances
As part of a small, collaborative team, you’ll have exposure beyond routine production work.
- Partner with engineering and operations on new materials, R&D builds, and process improvements
- Communicate equipment, quality, or safety concerns quickly and clearly
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment
Safety is non-negotiable. You’ll be expected to follow:
- Safety protocols and industry standards and support our commitment to a safe, compliant workplace
- 1–5 years of CNC machine operation experience preferred
- Experience in a production or manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with machining performance, inspections, and basic machine maintenance
- Must be authorized to work in the United States. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this role.
- Solid understanding of how different metals behave during machining, including tool wear, heat, and finish considerations
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately document processes, production runs, and results
- Ability to work independently in a production environment while managing priorities with minimal supervision
- Clear, professional communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a small, collaborative team
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and integrity, with a consistent focus on quality and safety
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort troubleshooting basic machine or process issues
- Willingness to learn new materials, processes, and equipment (training provided where needed)
- Basic problem-solving skills with the ability to recognize and escalate quality, safety, or equipment concerns
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift materials consistent with a manufacturing environment, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to safely operate machinery with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to use required personal protective equipment (PPE)
