Job Summary

Just Energy is seeking a Product Control Risk Analyst to join our Houston, TX office. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Product Control and Market Risk processes, with strong technical skills in SQL, Python/R (for risk modeling), and Power BI (for data visualization). This role involves analyzing financial data, developing risk models, and creating dashboards to support risk management and decision-making.

Duties/Responsibilities

•

Support Product Control by generating and analyzing daily reports (e.g., positions, P&L, VaR).

•

Design and implement financial risk models for commodity and liquidity risk management, optimizing collateral requirements.

•

Develop, debug, and optimize SQL procedures and build risk tools in Python/R.

•

Create interactive Power BI dashboards for effective data communication.

•

Lead key projects independently with minimal supervision.

Requirements

•

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset—never assume, always validate.

•

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and meet strict deadlines.

•

Technical Proficiency:

•

SQL (complex queries, stored procedures)

•

Python/R (risk modeling, automation)

•

Power BI (data visualization)

•

Familiarity with Azure DevOps (CI/CD, version control) is a plus.

•

Commitment to code best practices (logging, testing, documentation).

•

Knowledge of Power/Gas markets is a strong plus.

•

Strong communication skills and team oriented

Education:

Degree in a technical field (academic and/or practical exposure to topics such as software development, app development, technical quantitative modeling, economics).
