Job Description: Risk and Controls Manager
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Risk and Controls Manager to oversee both our Internal Audit and Travel & Expense (T&E) teams at Solar Turbines. This role is pivotal in ensuring the integrity and compliance of our internal audit processes and SOX controls, as well as managing our global travel and expense operations.
Key Responsibilities:
•Audit Team: Lead and manage the internal audit team based in San Diego, CA ensuring adherence to audit standards and SOX compliance.
+ Collaborate with business unit leadership to develop and implement audit procedures and best practices which support the strategies and control environment for those units.
+ Advise senior management on risk and control issues and provide practical recommendations to ensure risks are appropriately managed.
+ Coordinate and evaluate the performance of testing procedures to support management's assessment of internal controls over financial reporting in accordance with the COSO Framework and Sarbanes-Oxley Act, including generation and evaluation of audit work papers.
+ Maintain communication with external auditors, business units and senior management to ensure communication of critical issues in a timely manner.
•T&E Team: Lead and manage the global travel and expense organization, with team members located in Prague, Czech Republic, and Tijuana, Mexico.
+ Coordinate and streamline processes across different geographical locations to ensure consistency and efficiency
+ Support satisfied and safe customer travel experience through effective T&E processes
+ Identify, assess and mitigate risks across the organization
Skills:
•Strategic Thinking: Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
•Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
•Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
•Judgment and Decision Making: Knowledge of the decision-making process; ability to carefully evaluate the impact of emerging business situations and choose the best path forward communicating actions and activities that maximize organizational performance.
•Managing People: Knowledge of processes involved in managing people; ability to lead successful teams, and diligently address issues related to performance and conflicts at the workplace.
•Accounting: Knowledge of accounting methods, processes, and tools; ability to maintain and prepare financial statements and reports using accounting methods and processes.
Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
•Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CIA, CISA) preferred.
•Proven experience in internal audit, SOX compliance, and risk management.
•4 or more years of public accounting experience
Additional Information:
•The location for this position is in San Diego, CA where employees work in the office 5 days per week.
•This position may require 10% travel.

Summary Pay Range:
$140,964.00 - $211,446.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
