We provide forestry materials from North America to all around the world. We are seeking someone to join our team who is able to travel frequently within the US Midwest, including but not limited to the States of Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, and other adjacent States.

Note that this position does not work in an office, but is required to frequently travel to various rural, forested areas to inspect and purchase forestry products for the company.
- Travel to log yards, lumber mills, etc to establish new supplier relationships through in-person meetings
- Inspect quality of supplier products and ensure adequate quality control processes
- Communicate with and develop supplier relationships via regular in-person meetings, phone calls, and e-mail to ensure product development, initiation of new orders, revisions, cancellations, shipping dates, arrival dates, etc
- Negotiate new purchasing contracts following prescribed guidelines
- Purchase incoming products in compliance with country of sales regulations
- Follow up with suppliers on any questions related to the purchase order, pricing quotes, extension requests, and shipping instructions, etc
- Reviewing and processing claims against suppliers when required
- Analyze freight rates, calculate cost of goods, and project profits
- Determine efficient and cost-effective routes of transporting goods
- Ongoing development of understanding of the industry through product knowledge acquisition and site visits
- 3-5 years experience with Forestry Products
- Previous experience with procurement of Walnut species is a strong asset
- Valid Driver’s License and possess personal vehicle capable of traveling in rural areas
- Able to commit to frequent travel and driving at regular intervals
- Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite or Google Drive apps
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Physically fit and able to lift 50lbs on occasion
- Sensitivity to confidential matters is required
- Organized and attentive to detail
