We are a U.S. company that combines advanced mineral exploration technologies with electric metals exploration projects predominantly located in the United States. We use our accurate and powerful Typhoon™ geophysical surveying system, together with advanced data analytics provided by our subsidiary, Computational Geosciences Inc., to accelerate and de-risk the mineral exploration process as we seek to discover new deposits of critical metals that may otherwise be undetectable by traditional exploration technologies. We believe the United States is significantly underexplored and has the potential to yield major new discoveries of critical metals. Our mineral exploration efforts focus on copper as well as other metals including nickel, vanadium, cobalt, platinum group elements, gold and silver. Through the advancement of our portfolio of electric metals exploration projects, headlined by the Santa Cruz Copper Project in Arizona and the Tintic Copper-Gold Project in Utah, as well as other exploration projects in the United States, we intend to support United States supply chain independence by finding and delivering the critical metals necessary for the electrification of the economy. We also operate a 50/50 joint venture with Saudi Arabian Mining Company Ma’aden to explore for minerals on ~48,500 km of underexplored Arabian Shield in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Summary of Primary Functions

A key component of the Procurement Manager role is to develop and implement procurement strategies and plans in line with Ivanhoe Electric’s goals and objectives. The Procurement Manager will identify and evaluate potential suppliers and negotiate contracts, terms and pricing agreements to ensure favorable terms and conditions. Manage and maintain relationships with existing suppliers, monitor performance and address any performance issues that may arise. Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, market conditions, and potential risks and opportunities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their requirements and provide procurement solutions that meet their needs. Track deliveries and ensure on-time delivery of goods and services. Evaluate a supplier’s ability to comply and meet ongoing compliance and performance with Ivanhoe Electric’s Supplier Code of Conduct and ensure compliance with contractual agreements. Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize procurement processes and reduce expenses. Stay updated on industry trends, new products, and market conditions to make informed purchasing decisions. Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier information. Any other opportunities and assignments as deemed relevant.

The Procurement Manager is a firm and strategic negotiator with a steadfast approach when dealing with external parties.

Specific Responsibilities/Essential Functions

Establish policies and protocols for purchasing and vendor contracts.

•

Manage local, regional and global procurement of goods in support of billion-dollar construction projects.

•

Develop and prepare subcontract and purchase order documents, including legal and commercial terms and conditions.

•

Manage the preparation and execution of bid package processes, including pre-qualifying bidders, formatting bid packages, participating in supplier selection, and finalizing approvals and purchase orders.

•

Facilitate any vendor negotiations in efforts to reduce cost and/or schedule.

•

Interface regularly with company personnel to support materials and equipment delivery schedule requirements.

•

Analyze supply chain and mitigate risks to key critical equipment and parts supply areas.

•

Manage personnel in charge of inventory planning functions.

•

Development and management of annual materials budget.

•

Development and management of Capital Purchasing and Asset Replacement Program.

•

Facilitate the evaluation and assessment of supplier qualifications and compliance with the Supplier Code of Conduct

•

Facilitate the evaluation and assessment of supplier sustainability practices, and integration of sustainability-related elements in bid evaluation matrix.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

•

Significant experience in Procurement, Supply Chain and Logistics.

•

Significant experience in Contract Management and negotiations (10 years minimum, 15+ preferred) for a variety of levels of contractors, consultants and suppliers.

•

Proficient in ISO, SEC and SOX compliance.

•

Demonstrated experience in participation of the development of purchasing and supply chain policies for industrial construction.

•

Demonstrated experience in supervision of Junior and Senior level buyers and planners.

•

Ability to facilitate evaluating sustainability practices through the supply chain.

•

Hybrid position (on site as required, but not necessarily 100% on site) possible.

•

Local to Phoenix/Tucson/Casa Grande area or willingness to relocate prior to start of construction/development phase.

•

Existing knowledge of multiple industrial and construction contractors, suppliers, and equipment manufacturers.

•

Strong project and time management skills.

•

Ability to lead, direct, and work cooperatively.
