Position Summary

Bridge Brothers is seeking a Processing / Machine Operator to join our fabrication team in Pickens, SC. This is a hands-on role in the processing department, responsible for operating and maintaining machines that cut, shape, and finish steel parts for bridge projects. The ideal candidate will be skilled with the Bridgeport mill, Voortman machine, and plasma cutting equipment, while also comfortable using wheelabrators, drill presses, iron workers, saws, and forklifts. This role is perfect for a young, motivated individual who knows enough to work safely and efficiently while learning the craft on the job.

Key Responsibilities

Machine Operation & Processing

- Set up and operate CNC plasma cutting machine, Voortman machine, wheelabrator, Scotsman machine, and related fabrication equipment.

- Operate Bridgeport mill, drill presses, iron worker, saws, and forklift as needed.

- Ensure all parts are manufactured to correct dimensions according to engineering drawings.

- Maintain safe and organized work areas, following all safety protocols.

- Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting.

Quality & Documentation

- Record and maintain detailed material usage records in accordance with Bridge Brothers’ Quality Standards and AISC standards.

- Inspect parts for accuracy and quality before moving to assembly or shipping.

- Communicate any material issues, defects, or machine problems to supervisors promptly.

Teamwork & Learning

- Work alongside experienced machinists and fabrication staff to develop skills and knowledge.

- Assist in other processing or fabrication tasks as needed to support team goals.

- Contribute to a positive, safety-focused work environment.

Qualifications

- Prior experience with a Bridgeport mill, plasma cutter, or CNC machinery is highly preferred.

- General fabrication experience or willingness to learn on the job.

- Ability to operate forklifts and basic fabrication equipment safely.

- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.

- Physically able to lift and move materials and parts as needed.

- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.

- Safety-conscious mindset with a commitment to following company protocols.

Role Details

- Schedule: Monday–Friday, Full-Time (occasional overtime as needed)

- Employment Type: Non-Exempt, Hourly

- Location: Pickens, SC
