Purpose & Scope of The Position:
Supervising and instructing mill operations shift activities while ensuring operating parameters are met to maximize process efficiencies and to meet production goals, copper recoveries, and con grades in a safe, environmentally responsible workplace. Oversee shift operations at the mill and related support systems. Work with operators in all facets of process training, understanding, safety, and general work. Issue work orders for repair or modification of operations equipment. Monitor and maintain logbooks and personnel records. Communicate with other department supervisors that support mill activities (i.e. maintenance, crusher, mine). Continuously monitor work areas to ensure a safe and cost-efficient operation. Develop personnel by training and example.
- Enforce company policy and MSHA regulations. Foster an accident free and safe working environment. Perform crew safety meetings, safety are inspections, and provide training to process personnel on an ongoing basis. Maintain overall process plant shift operations in an environmentally responsible manner.
- Monitor and maintain operating logbooks, shift reports, and personnel records as required. Communicate goals and information to process operators. Interface with metallurgical technical staff to improve productivity and profitability.
- Work closely with the Process Operations Superintendent and other department supervisors that support the mill such as maintenance, warehouse, crusher, mine, and tailings to ensure minimal disruptions of process operations.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support the success of Robinson Nevada Mining Company and KGHM.
- Education: High school diploma or GED.
- Experience: Minimum of five years milling experience and a thorough operating knowledge of crushing, grinding (including SAG circuits), conveying, flotation, thickening, concentrate, moly, and filtering unit operations.
- Licenses: Valid driver’s license.
- Education: Secondary schooling is desirable.
- Experience: Two years’ supervisory or lead position experience.
- Very good working knowledge of process operating equipment used in grinding and flotation in a copper concentrator.
- Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
- Organizational, communication, and team building skills required.
- Willingness to travel including, including overnight as necessary.
- Supervising and instructing mill operators in daily activities to ensure process operating parameters are followed to meet process production goals.
- Evaluate mill operators on job performance as required.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment physical, including drug and alcohol testing.
- Ability to meet the required physical demands, exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly.
