Yes – Must be available to perform a primary assignment in support of DTE’s emergency response to storms or other events that impact service to our customers.

Supervises a team of professionals responsible for all or some combination of the accountabilities identified below and utilize varying combinations of the competencies cited in this description, depending on the organization & role to which they're assigned. Span of Control: Leads a team of individual contributors/individual contributors and leaders

The External Reporting group’s responsibilities include the preparation and filing of the DTE Energy Form 10-K’s, Form 10-Q’s, and Form 11-K’s with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).  Also handles preparation and submission of annual and quarterly regulatory filings to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and the Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC). This role prepares these filings, as well as s upervises a team of professionals responsible for the above.

- Provides supervision and oversight for all aspects of the assigned process

- Solves business and operating problems related to their area using recognized financial analysis techniques

- Responsibilities may include monthly accruals, accurate and timely payments in accordance with contract terms, account reconciliations, etc.

- Conducts benchmarking studies and reports monthly performance metrics

- Monitors work practices and utilizes continuous improvement and lean systems methodology

- Conducts other related management duties as assigned

- Ensures the accomplishment of the following core supervisory/management functions for a given group(s) within area of responsibility; planning, organizing, directing the performance of on-going activities and/or special/ad hoc

assignments, staffing (employee selections, training, coaching and performance management, time entry), coordinating, reporting and budgeting.

- Leads the continuous improvement commitment and efforts within area of responsibility: designing processes; establishing quality and quantity standards and metrics; collecting, refining, adapting and communicating best practices; sharing knowledge and developing staff in a systematic fashion. Uses process design outcomes to solve problems.

- This position may require gas FERC training

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business-related or technical discipline and 7 years of experience in a finance and/or business related area inclusive of one year of informal leadership or project-based leadership; functional expertise in financial analysis or accounting

- MBA or Master’s degree

- Experience with the Workiva Wdesk reporting platform

Other Requirement

- Comprehensive understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and SEC reporting requirements to ensure the Company's compliance in external reports

- Experience in the application of a broad range of technical accounting and reporting requirements

- Balances multiple demands from superiors, and/or subordinates & peers in a positive and even-handed fashion; displays a calm demeanor under pressure

- Motivates through "leading by example", coaching/mentoring and providing ongoing constructive feedback to subordinate staff; competent in systematically eliciting the best efforts and results from subordinate staff

- Ability to compile and analyze complex financial data

- Ability with project management techniques and tools

- PC proficiency, including experience with MS Office product

- Communicates effectively, verbally and in writing with individuals at all levels, inside and outside the corporation
