Job Summary

The Principal Network Engineer will work closely with members of the team to maintain the integrity of Vistra's internal network, including customer-facing hosted and cloud environment. The successful candidate will serve as a visionary leader and technical expert, driving the design, implementation, and optimization of next-generation networks.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities

- Lead the strategic design and architecture of large-scale network infrastructures.

- Collaborate with executive leadership and cross-functional teams.

- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of network engineers.

- Drive research and development initiatives.

- Develop and maintain technical standards and best practices.

- Lead troubleshooting efforts of complex network issues.

- Serve as a subject matter expert on network technologies.

- Represent the company in industry forums.

Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or related experience gained through college degree programs and or certifications in related field

- 10+ years of experience in network engineering.

- Expert-level knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies.

- Extensive experience with network equipment from leading vendors.

- Strong understanding of data center networking, virtualization, cloud technologies, and emerging trends.

- Demonstrated leadership skills.

Relevant certifications preferred.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
