About This Job
A growing Central CT ISO and ITAR certified Class A die house, with expanding metal stamping operations, has an immediate opening for a first shift Press Setup and Operator for progressive and secondary tooling. Must be able to work independently and in an ISO certified environment. Ideal candidate will be able to perform preventative maintenance checks on press and die sets as well as make minor repairs and adjustments to tools and equipment as required.
Must be able to work with limited supervision. A minimum of 5 years experience is required. First shift hours include Monday through Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm with overtime to be worked as needed to satisfy expanding operating requirements and other needs.
Position Duties: Can include, but is not limited to:
•Consult with Foreman on all work assignments.
•Potential Leadership responsibilities many include training department team members and collaborating with other departments/divisions to ensure a quality product is produced in a timely fashion.
•Assuring that tooling/presses are properly set-up for production.
•Reviewing press operating procedures with the operator.
•Trouble shoot and resolve basic press issues.
•Must be able to read micrometers, calipers and other inspection equipment.
•Perform visual inspection of product per specific job instructions.
•Placing a sample strip and last piece samples with the tool at the end of the production run.
•Documenting and maintaining all set-up procedures and logs, inspection sheets, and other appropriate paperwork as required.
•Work well in a fast-paced environment and make minor repairs to machine tools and equipment as required.
