Job Purpose/Summary:
To set up and operate an injection molding machine to make polyurethane panels within specifications.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
•Reviews work order and checks that correct raw materials are being used.
•Sets up machine according to work order and engineering specifications.
•Performs die and/or mold changes ensuring accordance to setup procedures.
•Places insert into molding machine and starts cycle of machine. Runs first piece, gets approval and begins run operations. Operates machine insuring downtime is minimized.
•Physically remove panel from machine and load machine with next insert.
•Cut/trim off flash and finish frame to quality standards.
•Responsible for the proper labeling and scanning of completed panels according to procedure.
•Die to be inspected upon completion of run. Return die to tool room.
•Place scrapped product in scrap cart. Report scrap to ERP system.
•Can operate all types of machines in Poly department.
•Maintains good housekeeping practices in work area.
•Performs related duties as required.
•Reports labor and material use to ERP system.
Necessary Abilities/Skills/Certifications:
Read blueprints
Calculate measurements
Use shop tools
Minimum Education and Work Experience Required:
High school or GED diploma
2-3 years work experience with injection molding machinery
Understands English to properly respond to quality suggestions.
This is a 2nd shift roll 3 pm to 11 pm Monday-Friday
