Job Title: Plumbing Estimator
Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Plumbing Estimator to join our team. The Plumbing Estimator will be responsible for accurately forecasting the cost, materials, and labor needed to complete plumbing systems for a variety of construction projects, including commercial, industrial, and residential buildings.
Key Responsibilities:
•Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for plumbing projects.
•Perform material and quantity take-offs for piping, fixtures, fittings, valves, and related systems.
•Solicit and review bids from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure accurate pricing and scope coverage.
•Prepare comprehensive bid packages, cost breakdowns, and proposals in coordination with the project team.
•Attend job walks and pre-bid meetings to assess project conditions and requirements.
•Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify project details and ensure bid accuracy.
•Maintain historical cost data and assist in the development of estimating standards and tools.
•Track bid results, follow up with clients, and support project handoff to operations upon award.
Qualifications:
•High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, mechanical engineering, or related field preferred.
•3+ years of experience in plumbing estimating, plumbing design, or project management in construction.
•Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, installation practices, and relevant codes (UPC, IPC, NFPA, etc.).
•Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schematics.
•Proficient with estimating software (e.g., Trimble, FastPIPE, QuoteSoft) and Microsoft Office Suite.
•Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
•Ability to manage multiple bids and meet strict deadlines.
Preferred:
•Experience in both new construction and renovation projects.
•Working knowledge of CAD or BIM tools (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks) is a plus.
•Familiarity with design-build and plan-spec project delivery methods.
