With a reputation built on quality, precision, and reliability, we are expanding our team and seeking an experienced Pipe Fabrication Shop Estimator to help us continue delivering exceptional service to our clients.
Position Summary:
The Pipe Fabrication Shop Estimator will play a critical role in analyzing drawings, specifications, and project requirements to prepare accurate and competitive estimates. This position works closely with project managers, the shop foreman, and clients to ensure all aspects of the bid process are thorough, timely, and aligned with project goals.
Key Responsibilities:
•Review blueprints, isometrics, P&IDs, and customer specifications
•Perform material takeoffs and labor hour estimates for pipe fabrication projects
•Calculate costs for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors
•Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes
•Prepare detailed and competitive bid proposals
•Collaborate with the project management and production teams to ensure alignment on scope and schedule
•Maintain and update pricing databases and estimating tools
•Participate in bid reviews and client meetings as required
Requirements:
•3+ years of estimating experience in pipe fabrication, mechanical, or industrial construction
•Strong knowledge of piping materials, fittings, welding processes, and shop practices
•Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
•Excellent math, analytical, and organizational skills
•Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
•Knowledge of Spoolfab (pipe fabrication software) is a plus
•Strong written and verbal communication skills
•Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
•Experience working in a pipe fabrication shop environment
•Familiarity with ASME, API, and ANSI codes and standards
•Understanding of lump sum, cost plus and unit rate bid structures
