Job Description: Plant Superintendent
Programming machines, building robot cells and structures and redesigning processes in the field. Transcribed blueprints into machining parameters and programs. Reviewed designs for pre-production errors, eliminating design flaws and material waste.
Key duties and responsibilities:
•Review product design and build requirements to determine tooling concepts, design options, testing plans, and specifications.
•Estimate costs, resource requirements and materials. May manage sourcing, quoting, or procurement of tools and materials.
•Develop and/or improve new processes for manufacturing.
•Assist in implementation and sustain process improvements.
•Prepare procedures and other manufacturing documentation.
•Provide on-site assistance for trouble-shooting, quality improvements, capability issues, productivity improvements, and capital purchases
•Perform analysis of a complex nature and develop recommendations in support of achieving business objectives.
•Prepare progress, status, and forecast reports on multiple key aspects of the assigned area of responsibility.
•With a long-term strategic view, work with the Operational Management team to guide and develop the business towards further successful growth.
•Drive and assist in implementation of lean projects with proven success of waste elimination techniques, six sigma tools, and continuous learning.
•Provide overall responsibility for all resources assigned to the Machine Shop, to achieve all quality, cost, and service objectives and to ensure all quality programs, initiatives and commitments are maintained and enhanced.
•Ability to optimize the utilization of resources in terms of people, machines, and material.
•Support the site Integration of new manufacturing processes and ensure the continually smooth running of the department during this period.
•Schedule assistance and adherence to meeting schedule.
•Employee relations, training, evaluations, corrective actions, time & attendance, safety, etc.
•Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:
•Desire BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field or equivalent education and work experience
•SolidWorks and AutoCAD experience is required.
•Proven work and leadership experience in a target driven environment.
•Adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources)
•Able to read and understand technical drawings. Understands GD&T.
•Experience with prototypes and quoting.
•Possess knowledge of various metal types and conditions, and their effect on the manufacturing process.
•Desire experience in a "job shop" environment -low quantities, highly technical pieces.
•Good, effective communication skills both written and verbal.
•A flexible and proactive ‘can do’ attitude.
•Experience with Quality Management System & Continuous Improvement ideal.
•Experience with MS Office applications and ERP software, Plex desired.
