Fossil Creek Nursery is seeking a dedicated and experienced General Manager to lead our nursery operations in Colorado. The General Manager will oversee all aspects of nursery operations, including staff management, production planning, customer relations, and inventory control. Responsibilities
•Oversee daily operations of Fossil Creek Nursery, ensuring safety and efficiency at all times
•Lead and supervise staff, providing training, guidance, and support to achieve organizational goals
•Manage live nursery inventory, including production schedules, pest control programs, and grounds maintenance
•Develop and implement production and maintenance plans to ensure healthy plant growth and optimal nursery performance
•Represent Fossil Creek Nursery professionally in all interactions with customers, employees, and vendors
•Drive public-facing operations, including customer service and marketing initiatives
•Administer internal operations such as personnel management, safety training, and risk management
•Oversee purchasing of goods and services, ensuring cost control and proper documentation
•Maintain accurate records and documentation related to nursery operations, budgets, and personnel
•Perform additional tasks as needed to support the successful operation of the nursery
Qualifications
•Extensive knowledge of horticultural production, plant care practices, and local plant varieties
•Experience with pest management and safety practices in a nursery or similar environment
•Strong leadership, supervisory, and organizational skills
•Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
•Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
•Proven ability to manage resources, materials, and personnel effectively
•Ability to interact positively and professionally with customers, employees, and vendors
•Willingness to fulfill and enforce company policies and procedures
•Certified Nursery Professional in the state of Colorado, or actively pursuing certification
•Ability to safely lift loads up to 50 lbs
•Valid Colorado driver’s license
