•Ensure that the plant is being inspected for maintenance issues and lubricated and areas of concern are reported by email to the production Manager and V.P. of Operations.
•Make sure that the mixer drivers are doing their daily 38-point pre-trip and post-trip inspections as required by the FMCSA, as well as checking fluids. This is a problem area you need to see with your own eyes that this function is happening daily.
•Make sure that all the mixer drivers are greasing their barrel rollers and ring daily. This is another area that can only be known by firsthand checking.
•Check all raw material inventories; cement, stone, sand, and admixtures daily for enough to meet production demand. Be sure to look ahead for large placements that require high dosages of non-Chloride such as PennDOT Rapid Patch were as much as 1000 gallons can be used in one 300-plus placement.

•Accurately record all incoming raw materials delivered to plant inventory and properly process all related paperwork.
•Ensure that mixer drivers on hold or waiting for releases are being given appropriate tasks to perform around the plant and yard or that they are actively cleaning the trucks during this time and that they signal this status change with their phones as they are on the clock in production time.
•Ensure that the plant loading area is kept free of excessive buildup daily.
•Regular communication via email of all problems with the plant, trucks, or drivers.
•Make sure that all accidents are reported immediately, and accident forms are filled out all on the road and in the yard accidents and injuries email notification to the V.P. of Operations, HR Manager, and Production Manager as soon as you are made aware of same. I cannot stress enough how important this issue is to our company – be diligent.

•Maintain a clean and orderly office area, as we put a high price on the housekeeping at each plant.
•Monitor that all mixer drivers fuel their trucks at the end of each day and at half tank without exception. Your daily fuel card report will let you know who is and who is not complying with this requirement as the hours worked and miles traveled are listed on this card.
•Perform monthly truck inspections to evaluate each mixer truck for concrete buildup in mixer barrels and cleanliness of the truck cabs, mixer barrels, front hopper, under carriages and rear of the trucks to assure compliance with our company’s standard; email this report to G.M., Driver Manager, HR Manager, V.P. of Operations, and Production Manager by the end of the day on the first Friday of the month without exception. The skilled Plant Manager runs a plant that always has clean mixer trucks.
•Monitor mixer trucks daily so that if you notice any truck that is starting to get dirty or not removing concrete buildup from all areas of the truck paying special attention to the front chute assembly, load hopper, and upper catwalk areas. Give any driver that is not meeting the standard a deadline of no more than (5) five days to clean up the area that needs cleaning or write him up to hold him accountable.
•At the end of each day, total all raw materials delivery slips and enter inventory into the batch computer. Numerically sort all office and driver delivery tickets and reconcile the office copy yardage totals with batch printout totals.
•Report any discrepancies to Debra Perry in the billing department immediately.
•Develop a thorough knowledge of the terms and conditions in DVC’s mixer driver contract so you can hold the mixer driver accountable for their actions.
