Opportunity Summary
As a Plant Engineer at Newark Energy Center, you will be responsible for plant engineering, operations & maintenance support, and project management. Serve as a resource for plant personnel to assist in the safe, effective, and efficient operation of the facility.
Primary Functions
•Provide necessary technical support for all related work for bid specification, evaluation of vendor/contractor bid proposals and monitoring of contractor work performance to assure contract compliance on all capital improvements.
•Perform monitoring and analysis of plant compliance with NERC including but not limited to submitting self-certifications, maintaining, and updating records, and verifying completion of NERC alerts.
•Responsible for the Management of Change Program.
•Prepare required reports for the owner including but not limited to data to support invoicing, long term service agreement (LTSA), and monthly Flash Report.
•Track and monitor the overall plant performance including heat rate testing and tracking.
•In-depth knowledge of GE 7FA Digital Control System.
•Develop, communicates, and performs work practices and procedures to keep site drawings and documentation up to date.
•Serve as resource to plant personnel to ensure the facility operates reliably and efficiently as possible.
•Operate from established and well-known procedures, performing duties independently with only general direction given. Decisions are made within policy constraints. The Plant Engineer encounters new and varied work situations, involving a high degree of complexity.
•Effectively communicate information to the Plant Manager, fellow supervisors, and subordinate operation and maintenance personnel, relative to the condition of the plant equipment and performance and provide suggestions for plant improvement. Ensure duties are performed in such a way as to result in an optimum cost-benefit ratio.

Working Relationships
The Plant Engineer reports to the Plant Manager. Cooperate with the Operations Manager, Maintenance Manager and Compliance Coordinator as needed in the daily operation of the plant.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Physical requirements include the possibility of standing for extended periods of time, stair and ladder climbing and lifting up to 50 pounds. Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties (e.g., hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, chemical suits, hot gloves, and high voltage protective equipment, etc.). There are extensive smoking restrictions in and around the facility.
Fitness for Duty
All employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes a post-offer physical examination and drug screening and post-employment random drug screening.
Work Schedule
This position entails a Monday to Friday work schedule during regular day shift hours. Position requires extended working hours and varied shifts, with the possibility of weekend and holiday work, as required by schedules, workload, and plant conditions. "On call" status will periodically be required. Some travel may be involved to participate in Manager, Owner, User Group, or other offsite meetings.
Compensation
This position offers an annual base salary ranging from $150,000 to $185,000 and includes eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

We are seeking a Plant Engineer with a passion for excellence in plant operations and maintenance, a work history demonstrating progressively increasing responsibilities, and prior experience in a power plant environment.
•A Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university recognized by the United States Department of Education or equivalent. Relevant work experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
•Must currently possess a valid New Jersey Blue Seal Boiler License.
•Demonstrated understanding and proficiency in power plant operations, maintenance, or engineering, including operations and maintenance components.
•Position requires a working knowledge of major health and safety regulations as well as environmental, federal, state, and local rules and regulations.
•Familiarity with instrumentation and measurement systems, including calibration and maintenance procedures.
•Ability to analyze equipment failures, identify root causes, and develop effective recovery plans.
•Experience with Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems/Data Acquisition and Handling Systems (CEMS/DAHS).
•Familiarity with applicable safety statutes and regulations and understanding of principles associated with maintaining a strong safety program.
•Excellent writing and analytical skills, with the ability to present facts, conclusions, and recommendations effectively in written communications.
•Must possess a valid and unrestricted driver's license, ensuring it remains in good standing at all times.
