Job Description:
The Physical Security Manager is responsible for the daily oversight and coordination of Tri-State’s physical security operations across all Tri-State facilities. This position ensures effective implementation of access control, surveillance systems, and vendor security services while maintaining regulatory compliance with NERC CIP standards and other applicable security requirements. The role is operationally focused, emphasizing execution, policy adherence, incident response, and tactical leadership at the site-level.

Physical Security Manager
Hiring Salary Range: $96,000-$121,000
Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary outside of the posted hiring salary range based upon work experience, education, and/or skill level.
Responsibilities:
•Implement and maintain physical access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection systems across headquarters and field facilities.
•Assist Vice President, Support Services, in developing annual physical security strategy plan, budget, and long-term forecasts.
•Conduct routine access reviews and ensure proper access deprovisioning in collaboration with Technology and People and Culture teams.
•Coordinate contractor background screening processes and maintain documentation for audits and compliance.
•Assist People and Culture team with employee Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) evaluations and advise recruiting team on issues related to candidate background checks.
•Respond to and manage on-site security incidents, including alarm activations, threats, and breaches.
•Maintain up-to-date documentation of policies, programs and procedures and ensure frontline personnel and contractors are trained on protocols.
•Liaise with local law enforcement and first responders for coordination during emergencies or investigations.
•Support compliance with NERC CIP physical security requirements, including documentation and internal review activities.
•Supervise security contractors and oversee scheduling, performance, and post coverage.
•Monitor and track physical security system health, coordinate service and maintenance with vendors.
•Participate in internal audits and support regulatory filings or reviews related to physical security.

Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, Security Management, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
•Minimum of 8 years of experience in physical security operations, preferably within a critical infrastructure or utility environment.
•Working knowledge of NERC CIP standards, access control systems and video surveillance platforms.
•Experience in managing contract security personnel and vendor relationships.
•Strong organizational and incident response skills.
•Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and compliance standards effectively.
•This position may require access to sensitive federal threat or infrastructure information; as such, the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret clearance is required.
•Willingness to travel frequently, including overnight travel.
•Must be able to demonstrate that he or she can perform all the essential functions of the position.
