Permit Coordinator

About This Job

Primary Responsibilities:

•

Prepares permitting applications based on local city, county and/or state ordinances on an ongoing basis.

•

Obtains engineering plans, legal descriptions, tax numbers and fees as needed.

•

Follows-up and works with the permitting agency to secure permits in a timely manner; keeps the customer informed regarding the progress of applications on an ongoing basis.

•

Processes permit when received, noting any changes as needed.

•

Maintains accurate records documentation and company files pertaining to permit applications on an ongoing basis.

•

Knowledge of local, state and national building codes and regulations, to include zoning codes, structural codes, fire codes, and other relevant ordinances

•

Knowledge with the entire permitting process, from application submission to approval and inspection scheduling

•

Knowledge in maintaining accurate records of permit applications, approvals, and inspection scheduling

•

Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and terminology to assess permit applications and ensure compliance

Minimum Qualifications

•

High School diploma

•

2+ Years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
