Job Summary
Responsible for customer relations and contract oversight for the customers assigned to them by the P&C Operations Manager:
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Act as a single point of contact with the customers representatives as necessary to maintain customer relations.
- Scheduling and coordination of the day-to-day activities being performed for their customers at all project locations.
- Become familiar with all customer policies and procedures and making sure that information is effectively communicated to all team members working in the area.
- Attend customer safety, planning, and business review meetings as required.
- Develop or review job cost estimates and proposals.
- Review Time & Material reports regularly to monitor financial health of the project and ensure timely invoicing of projects.
- Communicate potential schedule or cost overruns to the Operations Manager as well as develop or review change orders as necessary.
- Constantly explore new business or customer opportunities in their area.
- Lead projects as necessary.
- Must be willing to travel overnight as needed to fulfill job responsibilities.

- Counsel, mentor, and train team members as well as assisting with formulating a career development plan for their direct reports.
- Completing performance reviews and assessments.
- Review and approve timesheet and expense entries for team members assigned to or working in their area.
- Become familiar with all Premier Power policies and procedures and ensuring that team members are adhering to them.
- Attend meetings and training as necessary to fulfill their role as a supervisor.
- Perform site visits and job safety audits.
- Provide technical support and assistance for team members assigned to or working in their area.
- Foster teamwork by encouraging cross training leveraging the strengths of team members.
- Knowledge of industry testing and safety standards such as NFPA including OSHA compliance standards, federal, state, and local safety laws and DOT rules and regulations.
- Extensive knowledge regarding protection and control commissioning in substations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change.
- Analyze complex technical situations to direct team and solve customer challenges.
- Requires a high degree of communication, supervisory, organizational, and good management skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize and work well under pressure to meet goals and deadlines.
- Ability to work independently while utilizing excellent judgement.
- Ability to work on a computer and have a strong skillset in Microsoft Office Suite, email, internet, data entry and other essential software programs as they are introduced.
- Able to follow company safety rules, practices, and policies.
- Work in close, but safe, proximity to live electrical substations.
- Able to work flexible hours including overtime, nights, weekends, and some holidays.
- Able to work overnight, multi-day and out-of-town projects.
- Must be willing to take calls, give technical advice and schedule workforce outside of the normal workday.
- Standing, climbing, walking, lifting, carrying, and grasping are all required.
- Meets one of the following education and experience requirements:
- Associates technical degree or equivalent military training such as Army Prime Power or Naval Nuclear Power fields with minimum of 3 years of P&C, project management, substation commissioning or related experience.
- NETA Level III or IV certification with a minimum of 10 years of P&C, project management, substation commissioning, or related experience.
- Able to provide evidence of successful execution of numerous P&C commissioning projects, preferably as a lead.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience leading a division, small team, or major project including supervision of direct reports.
- Familiar with protection relay schemes, P&C commissioning, and relay testing.
- Ability to use a variety of relay test sets and automated relay testing software.
- Strong understanding of network communications including TCP/IP, DNP, Modbus and media structures such as Ethernet and Serial over copper, fiber optics, telephone or wireless systems and powerline carrier systems.
- Familiar with construction and apparatus testing standards and procedures. NETA III or IV certification is a plus.
- Familiar with NERC Standards and CIP policies and procedures and required compliance documentation.
- Strong working knowledge with common software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience with project management software is a plus.
- Strong working knowledge with common electrical industry software applications from industry manufacturers such as SEL, GE, Cooper, Novatech, ABB, Siemens, etc.
- Must show the ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally with customers and other team members.
- Demonstrates organizational skills to include on time reporting of time and expenses, weekly status reports, and any other documentation and reporting requirements.
- Demonstrates the responsibility required to maintain a professional appearance as well as keeping tools, test equipment, and vehicles in clean and organized condition and up to date with service and calibrations.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check, education verification, motor vehicle report, an approved hair and urine drug screen, as well as periodic, unannounced random testing.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to lift and maneuver at least 50 lbs.
- Must be willing to obtain a company paid TWIC, OSHA 10 hour, NFPA 70-E, and CPR training.
