Job Description:
As Payroll Manager, you will be part of the Finance Department, managing the payroll process from start to finish. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure every employee receives their paycheck on time and accurately. This process involves meticulous attention to all payroll data, timekeeping records, while maintaining strict adherence to relevant federal, state and local city legal and regulatory requirements. You will also be responsible for managing multi-state payroll tax registrations, accounts, and filings to ensure all are completed timely and accurately.
Key Responsibilities:
•Lead end to end payroll process for weekly (Certified Payroll Reporting), bi-weekly and monthly pay cycles, including hourly and salaried employees using integrated HRIS platform (Inova – UKG).
•Review and approve all payroll data, adjustments, journal entries, direct deposit changes/rejections, and specialized checks.
•Manage and stay informed on all federal, multi-state and local payroll tax filings and obligations.
•Report wage garnishments (child support, tax levies, etc.).
•Analyze complex payroll issues, identify causes, and implement solutions.
•Self-reliant judgement on matters related to compliance, compensation, taxation and other policies related to payroll.
•Conduct payroll audits, generate reports, and implement best practices.
•Collaborate with team to continuously optimize payroll-related process and improve system functionality within HRIS platform (Inova – UKG).
•Oversee Time & Labor Management including employee and Manager training/guidance (Inova – UKG).
•Manage year-end processes (W-2’s) and other regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
•Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing.
•In-depth knowledge of multi-state payroll processes and taxation.
•Proficiency in UKG software and strong Excel skills (pivot tables and vlookups).
•Excellent organizational and time management skills.
•Ability to handle strict confidentiality of employee and Company information (high-level of integrity and honesty).
•Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

•Conducts payroll duties with a service of others mindset and strives to provide an excellent level of care and responsiveness to company employees.
•Associate’s degree in business, accounting or a related field; or equivalent professional certification (e.g., Certified Payroll Professional). Bachelor’s degree preferred.
