Ward Electric Company is currently accepting applications for a full-time team-oriented Payroll Assistant, to work out of its Longmont headquarters in a family-oriented, fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. The Payroll Assistant reports to the Payroll Manager and supports the payroll function by ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time. This role involves maintaining payroll records and processing timesheets, assisting with compliance and resolving payroll-related inquires.
- Assist in processing payroll on a weekly basis
- Collect, review, and verify employee timekeeping data
- Maintain accurate payroll records and employee files
- Help calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions
- Ensure compliance with federal, state and local payroll regulations
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Assist with tax filings, wage garnishments and benefits deductions
- Generate payroll reports for management and accounting teams
- Support audits by providing required documentation and reports
- Collaborate with HR and accounting departments to ensure data accuracy
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Basic understanding of payroll laws and tax regulations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office software
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Experience maintaining strict confidentiality
- Excellent leadership skills
- Previous experience in payroll, accounting, or administrative support
- Familiarity with payroll software
- Must pass a drug screen and background check
- Pay: $24/Hour (Depending on Experience)
- 40 Hours/Week

- Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Consists of sedentary work, can lift up to 10 pounds. Substantial movements of hands, wrists, and /or fingers. Required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures or viewing a computer screen.
