We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a genuine interest in energy, technology, and a passion to deliver products for a growing company. The Payroll Analyst II is essential in guaranteeing that employees are paid correctly, on time and that the payroll function is efficient and ready to handle the company’s expected growth.
Reporting into the Sr. Payroll & Benefits Manger, the role requires self-motivated, dedicated, and responsible individual with the ability to perform well under pressure.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
•Process and verify payroll transactions includes entering data, reconciling timecards and ensuring accuracy of wages, salaries, deductions and tax withholdings.
•Maintaining payroll records by keeping accurate and organized records of employee compensation, tax information and deductions.
•Reconciling payroll accounts and identifying and resolving discrepancies.
•Ensure compliance by staying up to date on federal, state and local payroll laws and regulations.
•Work with team members in U.S. payroll and tax function in Paylocity payroll system and coordinate with Paylocity’s U.S. tax team.
•Work with Sr. Payroll Manager and HR to resolve U.S. tax questions and concerns.
•Track and monitor all payroll tax deposits, payments and returns prepared by Paylocity.
•Research any outstanding payroll tax issues and work with Paylocity for timely resolution.
•Manage the set-up and closure of all tax accounts with state and local jurisdictions as needed.
•Manage unemployment rates from each state to ensure proper set up in Paylocity.
•Assist with external or internal reporting needs as it relates to payroll tax or payroll in general
•Conduct Monthly audits related to payroll deductions and contributions.
•Assist with any payroll related projects and year-end activities as requested.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

•5+ years of Payroll experience on an ERP platform particularly Paylocity in a multi-state payroll tax environment is preferred
•Strong knowledge of payroll and payroll taxes (federal and multi-state/local) requested
•High School diploma required; some college preferred
•Remain current of legislation and regulatory rules that impact payroll tax
•Assist with reconciling and resolving differences for quarterly and annual filings.
•Ensure taxes related to employee relocation transactions are set up properly in Paylocity.
•Assist with responding to employee questions related to payroll U.S. tax withholdings
•Assist with an external or internal reporting needs as it relates to payroll tax or payroll in general, internal audit, or accounting.
•Ensure payroll tax processes are fully documented and such documentation easy to follow
•Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer and/or electronic device
•Ability to have face to face conversations co-workers and higher-level manager
•Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time and move around work environment as needed
•Comply with company policies and procedure
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; must be able to provide timely and accurate data analysis.
•Strong business writing skills and experience developing communication in various formats.

Location and work SCHEDULE
•Required to be in-person in Houston, TX, through a hybrid workplace environment
