Description:
The primary duties of the Parts Counter Associate are to streamline the flow of parts to the production floor, assist customers, and decrease indirect labor and improve parts operation efficiency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Observe and adhere to safety and security procedures; perform weekly safety checks and report any unsafe conditions.
•Follow established procedures; continuously develop and improve parts flow to production floor.
•Assist shop techs, walk-in and customers calling in.
•Source parts and select vendors; utilize competitive pricing strategies to generate profits while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
•Advice shop employees and customers on recommended parts; pick, package and prepare parts for delivery.
•Accurately transfer parts to work orders.
•Prepare mailing labels and ensure that all orders and requests are filled correctly and on time.
•Check and process incoming/outgoing freight; unpack shipments and deliveries; distribute contents to warehouse bin location.
•Assist with physical inventory counts.
•Work with and process warranty parts.
•Cross train for all parts positions and provide coverage as needed.
•General housekeeping duties; monitor and ensure shipping and receiving area is clean, neat and orderly.
•Drive company vehicle as needed for parts pick-up and deliveries.
•Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

•HS diploma or equivalent required.
•Team player and a focus on delivering superior customer service.
•Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
•Basic computer skills; experience using MS Office and email required.
•Strong business communication skills; oral, written and email.
•Must be able to learn and use with proficiency parts management software.
•Ability to identify and resolve issues timely.
•Possess mechanical aptitude and some parts knowledge and technical application.
•Must be certified for forklift operation.
•Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record.
•Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function.
Physical Demands:Employees must be able to be on their feet for up to 8 hours at a time; regularly stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Moderate physical activity and the ability to lift and move up to 50 to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 lbs. constantly unrestricted. Employees performing occasional lifting and moving objects in excess of 100 lbs. are required to have assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles and confined spaces. The employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
