Description: The Parts and Inventory Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining vendor relationships, managing all aspects of parts sales, and overseeing inventory procurement for facility operations. This position requires significant independent judgment, strategic planning, and analytical decision-making to ensure optimal inventory levels, competitive pricing, and excellent customer service. The incumbent will implement and manage inventory control systems while developing long-term supplier partnerships.
Hours: 7:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday
· Must be able to speak in a professional manner to both customers and co-workers
· Follows both oral and written directions well
· Basic familiarity with the Microsoft Suite of Products (Excel, Outlook, and Word), Microsoft Teams, OneDrive
· Must be able to operate a forklift in a safe manner
· Familiarity with ASANA project management software preferred
· Adaptable to new technology systems and software implementations
· Establishes and maintains long-standing vendor relationships to ensure reliable supply chains and favorable terms
· Develops and implements inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels and minimize carrying costs
· Analyzes market trends and vendor pricing to ensure competitive purchasing for all entities
· Conducts comprehensive price comparisons across multiple vendors to secure optimal pricing
· Exercises independent judgment in negotiating prices with vendors to secure optimal terms
· Manages customer relationships through professional communication and problem-solving
· Coordinates cross-departmental and cross-entity communications regarding inventory needs and availability
· Creates and maintains standardized vendor pricing structures to ensure vendor pricing consistency across customer accounts
· Performs regular analysis of inventory turnover rates and implements improvements
· Develops and implements quality control processes for received materials
· Leads continuous improvement initiatives for inventory management processes
· Provides training to staff on inventory systems and procedures as needed
· Ensures pricing consistency across all customer accounts
· Fields phone calls and emails from customers seeking replacement parts
· Prepares sales orders and invoices for parts orders
· Orders inventory to maintain appropriate stocking levels and fulfill new project requirements
· Coordinates shipping of completed orders to customers
· Maintains cleanliness and organization of the parts room
· Creates regular reports on inventory status, purchase history, and sales metrics
· Forecasts inventory needs based on historical data and upcoming projects
· Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience
· Minimum 3 years of experience in inventory management, purchasing, or supply chain roles
· Proven ability to exercise independent judgment and decision-making
· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
· Strong analytical skills with experience in inventory optimization
