Part Time Weighmaster (2:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.)

OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY

The Weighmaster is responsible for weighing trucks loaded with rock and sand to Gillibrand Customers at the Simi Valley plant, assuring that the correct products and quantities are provided to customers.

JOB DUTIES:

- Ticket customer trucks utilizing computer programs.

- Verbally contact loader operators to ensure the correct material will be loaded.

- Weigh the loaded trucks to ensure the correct material and weight, with no overweight trucks leaving the plant.

- Verify that the loaded material matches the ticket and that the delivery is going to the correct customer and location.

- Once a week, determine the light weight of every truck entering the plant and update in the computer system.

- Answers phones and directs calls as appropriate.

- Serves as back up to order desk as needed.

- Ensures scale-house is clean, tidy and organized at all times.

- Filing and other general office work as needed.

- Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

- High School Diploma or equivalent. Some college coursework a plus.

- Experience in order entry, scale-house weighing or dispatching preferred.

- Experience in successfully multi-tasking in a fast paced and sometimes stressful environment a must.

- Ability to do basic math

- Able to work independently with attention to detail.

- Able to respond to stressful situations and customers in a professional, courteous manner.

- Excellent organizational skills

WORK DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENT

- Personal protective equipment is required on a regular basis, as needed, including hard hat, hearing protection, eye protection, hard-toed safety shoes or boots, dust mask

respirator, protective clothing, gloves and other personal protective equipment.

- The employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions and may be working in extreme weather conditions including, heat, cold, wind and rain and dust.

- The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; uneven ground and vibration, and high and/ or precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, safely climb up sand deposits, ladders and up to six flights of stairs, and work on elevated platforms.

Pay: $18.30 - $24.56 per hour
