The Operations Manager plays a key role in supporting branch performance by managing day-to-day field and shop operations within Vapor Point. This position ensures that personnel, equipment, and processes are deployed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all regulatory and customer requirements. The Operations Manager is responsible for executing company policies and objectives while directly supporting the Branch Manager in driving operational success and customer satisfaction.
· Manage the daily execution of environmental service projects, ensuring adherence to customer requirements and company standards.
· Coordinate equipment, personnel, and fleet resources for optimal utilization.
· Monitor and adjust schedules, assignments, and resources to meet operational needs.
· Support the Branch Manager in implementing branch-level initiatives and performance goals.
· Enforce company safety culture and ensure compliance with Vapor Point’s Safety Statement, OSHA, DOT, and other applicable regulations.
· Conduct job safety analyses (JSAs) and ensure hazard identification and mitigation practices are in place.
· Maintain oversight of required employee training and certifications.
· Support customer and third-party safety audits and compliance requirements (e.g., ISNETWORLD, DISA).
· Supervise and mentor field and shop personnel, including crew leads and technicians.
· Manage staff schedules, timesheets, and daily work assignments.
· Conduct performance reviews, coaching sessions, and participate in hiring and training initiatives.
· Promote accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the operations team.
· Review and approve field tickets, work orders, and purchase requisitions.
· Monitor project costs, equipment usage, and labor allocation to control branch expenses.
· Provide input to the Branch Manager on monthly P&L, KPIs, and operational efficiency metrics.
· Assist in developing operational budgets, forecasts, and asset management plans.
· Ensure all services are delivered in line with Vapor Point’s standards of excellence.
· Act as an operational point of contact for customers on project execution, safety, and quality issues.
· Participate in job kick-off meetings, customer walk-throughs, and post-project reviews.
· Support continuous improvement through QA/QC inspections, audits, and feedback loops.
· Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Industrial Management, or related field preferred (or equivalent work experience).
· 7+ years of relevant operations experience in industrial services, environmental services, or related field.
· 3+ years in a supervisory or management capacity.
· Strong knowledge of environmental service operations, including VOC control, liquid scrubber systems, and field services.
· Proven ability to manage crews, assets, and multiple projects simultaneously.
· Excellent communication and leadership skills with ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.
· Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability in fast-paced environments.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and operations/ERP systems (e.g., Riger or similar).
· High attention to safety, quality, and compliance.
· Self-starter with strong organizational skills and focus on results.
