Job Title: Operations Manager
Location: MW Components – Greer: Springs
Reports To: General Manager
Job Summary:
The Operations Manager will lead and mentor the Operations team, comprising Production, Maintenance, Process Engineering, and Purchasing, to achieve company objectives, meet and exceed customer expectations, and foster a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and quality. This role demands an individual with strong leadership capabilities, robust problem-solving skills, and outstanding communication abilities to drive efficiency and productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
•Operational Leadership & Excellence:
•Execute operational plans aligned with overall company goals and facility objectives.
•Drive a culture of continuous improvement (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) across all operational departments to enhance productivity, quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
•Oversee all aspects of daily manufacturing operations, including production planning and execution, maintenance reliability, process optimization, and procurement.
•Ensure compliance with all applicable industry regulations, safety standards (e.g., OSHA), environmental regulations, and quality certifications (e.g., ISO).
•Champion a strong safety culture, ensuring all team members adhere to safety protocols and proactively identify and mitigate risks.
Team Leadership & Development:
•Provide strong, decisive, and hands-on leadership to the Operations team (Production, Maintenance, Process Engineering, Purchasing).
•Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable work environment.
•Mentor, coach, and develop direct reports and team members.
•Conduct performance reviews, set clear objectives, and manage the performance of the operations team leaders.
•Promote effective communication and collaboration between departments and shifts.
Customer Focus & Delivery:
•Ensure the facility consistently meets customer requirements for quality, on-time delivery, and service.
•Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, and other departments to understand customer needs and address any issues promptly.
•Drive initiatives to improve customer satisfaction and responsiveness.
Financial & Resource Management:
•Assist in the development of and manage the operational budget for assigned areas, ensuring cost control and resource optimization.
•Analyze operational data and KPIs to identify trends, make informed decisions, and drive performance improvements.
•Oversee the purchasing department to ensure timely procurement of materials and services at optimal cost and quality.
•Manage operational aspects of capital expenditure projects related to facility improvements and equipment.
Problem Solving & Decision Making:
•Proactively identify operational challenges and opportunities.
•Lead cross-functional teams in effective root cause analysis and problem-solving.
•Make timely and sound decisions to ensure operational continuity and goal achievement.
Communication:
•Communicate effectively and transparently with all levels of the operations team, and with other relevant departments.
•Clearly articulate operational goals and performance expectations.
•Represent the facility's operations effectively in internal meetings and discussions.
Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related), Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
•Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 3-5 years in an operations leadership or supervisory role (e.g., Production Manager, Value Stream Manager).
•Proven track record of successfully leading and developing teams in areas such as Production, Maintenance, Engineering, or Purchasing.
•Strong understanding of manufacturing principles, including lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, quality systems (e.g., ISO 9001), and supply chain management.
•Demonstrated experience in operational budgeting, cost control, and performance metrics.
•Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
•Familiarity with relevant safety (OSHA) and environmental regulations.

Working Conditions:
•This role operates primarily in a manufacturing facility environment, which will include exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
