Job Summary
Abacus Cabinetry is seeking a skilled and proactive Operations Manager to oversee and optimize daily business operations across production, engineering, installation, and vendor coordination. This senior-level leadership position plays a pivotal role in project execution, ensuring streamlined workflows, on-time delivery, and cross-departmental alignment.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in cabinetry or construction operations, have experience working with technical design software, and demonstrate a hands-on leadership style focused on results, accountability, and team development.
Key Responsibilities
•Oversee day-to-day operations of the cabinetry production shop, ensuring efficiency, quality, and profitability.
•Lead production, engineering, installation, and project coordination teams to ensure successful delivery of client projects.
•Partner with sales to scope projects, validate costs, and ensure alignment between client expectations and operational capacity.
•Manage vendor relationships, purchasing, and inventory to support just-in-time production and minimize delays.
•Coordinate the cabinetry installer schedule, provide onsite support as needed, and troubleshoot field installation issues.
•Accurately measure job sites and document field conditions for engineering and production planning.
•Support change order pricing and ensure project profitability is maintained.
•Maintain and improve systems for tracking project milestones, team productivity, and resource allocation.
•Promote a positive and collaborative team environment that emphasizes accountability, craftsmanship, and continuous learning.
•Drive operational improvements and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and company policies.
•Report regularly to the Founder on operational performance, opportunities, and strategic priorities.
Requirements
•Proven experience as an Operations Manager or in a senior operational leadership role within cabinetry, woodworking, construction, or manufacturing.
•Strong understanding of cabinetry construction techniques and familiarity with vendor product lines.
•Proficient in key business and production software, including:
•Microvellum (cabinet engineering/drafting)
•Monday.com (project management and workflow tracking)
•Inventory control systems
•Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
•Strong project management and scheduling abilities, with excellent attention to detail.
•Ability to read blueprints, take precise job site measurements, and interpret construction documents.
•Effective communicator—written, verbal, and digital—with cross-functional team leadership experience.
•Proven track record in process improvement, problem-solving, and team development.
•Must be highly organized, dependable, and aligned with Abacus's values of craftsmanship, quality, and integrity.
•Ability to work Tuesday–Friday, 10-hour shifts onsite in Denver, CO.
Preferred Qualifications
•Experience using ERP or manufacturing software for custom production environments.
•Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement frameworks.
•Financial acumen related to budgeting, job costing, and operational forecasting.
•Prior experience in a small to mid-sized company where adaptability and initiative are essential.
