The Mechanical Maintenance Specialist works in a job shop environment for repairs to power plant equipment, which may include, pumps, fans, motors, compressors, conveyors, and other plant equipment.
- Performing rigging, dismantling, overhauling, repairing, testing, and assembling of rotating, mechanical, and plant auxiliary equipment, operating forklifts, man-lifts, bobcat and operating overhead and mobile cranes on regular and precision lifts.
- Inspecting, testing, adjusting, replacing, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting all plant mechanical equipment.
- Performing other similar and less skilled work as assigned.
- Performing non-code welding, brazing, soldering, plasma cutting and oxyacetylene burning; layout, fabricate and maintain plant piping.
- Is able to work in any plant environment, extreme temperatures, dust and dirt.
- Must have at least a two-year technical degree from an accredited school (Power Plant Technology preferred), and/or equivalent work experience, such as applicable military training or a Journeyman certification with three (3) years’ work experience.
- Willingness to work shifts and respond to overtime.
- Must have physical ability to lift 100-lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work in high places and in restricted or confined spaces
- Must possess and maintain valid driver’s license.

- Prefer applicant to have a working knowledge of plant layout and the various equipment functions in a generating facility.
