SmartChain is a Houston-based SaaS startup automating the upstream O&G invoice review process. We’re building automation products that cut through legacy workflows in drilling, completions and production - giving operators real-time financial visibility, faster execution, and a better alignment with vendors.
We’re looking for a Drilling or Completions Engineer
who has worked for operators in the North American land market. This role is the CEO’s right-hand and will focus on deploying our contract automation platform with customers. If you’re an engineer who’s tired of the slow grind of corporate life and wants to move into AI-centered tech while still leveraging your upstream expertise, this is your chance.
This is not a cookie-cutter operator job — it’s a fast-paced startup role where you’ll get to design solutions, see them built quickly, and deliver them to customers.
- Work side-by-side with operators and vendors to uncover pain points and deploy SmartChain’s automation products.
- Dive deep into drilling & completions financial workflows and vendor contracting issues.
- Connect and troubleshoot external data sources, ensuring clean, reliable data for decision-making.
- Occasionally visit the field to support deployments and validate solutions.
- Contribute to product development: design workflows, lead roadmap initiatives, and collaborate with the development team.
- Take ownership — if you see the ball on the ground, you pick it up.
- Must-have
