🚀 Operations Business Analyst II | Midstream + CCUS Analytics
📍 Fort Worth, TX (On-site)
| ⚡
Pipeline, Compression, Processing & Carbon CaptureThis is not a reporting role. This is where field operations meets data—and your work drives real decisions.
BKV Corporation is a $2B publicly-traded natural gas company operating pipelines, compression, processing, and carbon capture (CCUS) across Texas and Appalachia. We're hiring an Operations Business Analyst II
to sit at the intersection of engineering, field operations, and analytics—owning dashboards, performance analysis, and operational insights that drive real pipeline and equipment optimization.
This is a
backfill. The person who held this role started as a BKV intern, became an Operations Engineer, and just got promoted.
Translation:
BKV invests in developing analytical talent into operations leadership. This isn't a dead-end analyst box—it's a launching pad.
- Analyze operational data from SCADA historians, PI System, Excel, SQL databases, and field reports
- Build Power BI/Spotfire dashboards that operations teams actually use to optimize throughput, compression efficiency, and equipment reliability
- Perform time-series analysis on pipelines, compressors, and processing facilities (not theoretical analytics—live assets)
- Support DOT/PHMSA regulatory reporting (because bad data = fines, shutdowns, and headlines)
- Partner directly with field operations, engineering, and leadership to diagnose performance issues and identify uplift opportunities
- Automate recurring workflows and improve data quality across operational systems
Fort Worth on-site (operations team is here; this role requires hallway conversations, whiteboard problem-solving, and field exposure). Report to Travis Lauer (operations leadership). You'll learn midstream operations 3x faster than remote roles allow.
✅
Operational context– You've worked in energy, utilities, or industrial operations and understand how physical assets work (bonus if you've walked pipeline ROWs, stood in compressor stations, or optimized wells)
✅
Data skills– Advanced Excel (Power Query, DAX, array formulas), SQL (write queries from scratch, not just run stored procs), and experience with Power BI, Spotfire, or similar visualization tools
✅
Grit + curiosity– You ask "why did this fail?" not just "what's the number?" You're comfortable with ambiguous problems, iterative solutions, and fast operations tempo
✅
1-6 years experience– Early-career but self-directed; you can take an ambiguous request and build the analysis without hand-holding
- Field operators, production techs, or lease operators
ready to move off the field into analytics
- Artificial lift, compression, or SCADA optimization specialists
who've built Excel tools, dashboards, or automated reporting to make your job easier
- Production or operations engineering interns/co-ops
looking to go full-time
- Military veterans
with technical operations experience (we value that discipline, grit, and systems thinking)
- Analysts from adjacent industries
(utilities, upstream, refining, manufacturing) with SCADA + operational data exposureBackgrounds that translate:
Barnett Shale, Permian, Marcellus, Haynesville operators | Devon, Pioneer, EOG, ConocoPhillips alumni | Power generation, chemical plants, or industrial manufacturing analytics
✅
Real impact, not busywork– Your analytics influence live operational decisions on equipment performance, throughput optimization, and regulatory compliance. You'll see the results of your work in real time.
✅
CCUS infrastructure leader– You're not just analyzing gas extraction; you're building carbon capture projects and the energy transition. BKV is investing heavily in CCUS across our asset base.
✅
Direct access to leadership– Your analysis goes straight to operations leadership and C-suite. You're not analyst #37 buried in a 500-person org.
✅
Operational learning on steroids– Being on-site in Fort Worth means you'll walk compressor stations, sit in operations meetings, and understand the full midstream value chain. Remote analytics jobs can't offer this.
✅
Proven promotion path– The last person in this role went from intern → Operations Engineer → Manager of Producer Services in 3 years. BKV grows its own leaders.
