As a
O&M Procurement Managerin the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Procurement team for RWE Americas, you will ensure supplier performance meets industry standards for critical components in Solar farms, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and wind turbines. This role focuses on Supplier Quality Management, focusing on quality audits, risk mitigation, Corrective action pland and data-driven reporting to support efficient procurement and minimize downtime. Reporting to the Director of O&M Procurement, you'll collaborate with engineering, operations, and supply chain stakeholders.
Travel will be required to supplier sites and other offices in the United States on an as needed basis.
Role Responsibilities:
- Lead procurement projects – oriented towards supplier quality for high-value or technically complex O&M parts, equipment, and services
- Develop and execute Supplier quality sourcing strategies for assigned categories, balancing cost, quality, and delivery performance
- Conduct Supplier quality Audits, advanced cost modeling, total cost of ownership analysis, and scenario planning to help informed decision making
- Serve as primary procurement point of Supplier quality for designated operational sites or technology groups
- Help CM’s to Negotiate better terms, SLAs, pricing structures, and warranty provisions for high-value agreements
- Collaborate with legal, technical, and operational teams to finalize and execute supplier quality contracts
- Conduct supplier risk assessments covering financial stability, capacity, and geopolitical factors
- Monitor and analyze supplier market conditions to identify savings opportunities or supply risks
- Oversee supplier performance reviews, implementing corrective action plans when necessary
- Work closely with the CM’s to develop supplier relationship strategies to drive innovation, quality improvement, and cost reduction
- Support strategic initiatives such as standardization of parts or consolidation of supplier base
- Prepare and present supplier quality strategies, savings reports, and risk assessments to procurement leadership
- Provide subject matter expertise and guidance to junior and mid-level procurement team members
- Act as escalation point for significant quality issues impacting operations
- Ensure compliance with corporate governance, ethical sourcing policies, and regulatory requirements
- Drive process optimization projects to improve Supplier quality, procurement efficiency and system utilization
- Bachelor's degree required
- Minimum 5 years, with 7 years preferred working experience in construction, energy, chemical or other industry with large, capital investment projects, with a focus on Supplier quality Management, procurement or contract management
- First-hand experience with Supplier quality Audits and managing supplier quality. Experiene with contracts to read, interpret and Manage compliance
- Hands on working on SAP ERP systems to develop and efficient process for ordering and tracking spare parts – hands on experience desired in SAP
- Background Engineer/Technical, Business Administration, Legal or Economics. However, a track record of success is more important than former positions or educational background
- Ability to write up Supplier quality Audit documentation, conduct audits and write up suppliers
- Identify gaps with suppliers and ensure that they can be supported where needed to drive corrective action plans
- Drive improvements with Suppliers across multiple technologies and help home the supply base
- Familiarity with working on SAP ERP systems to develop and efficient process for ordering and tracking spare parts – hands on experience desired in SAP
- Willingness to travel up to 50-60%
- Good problem identification and solving skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate with internal and external decision makers
- Ability to influence people and decisions to drive high performance and result orientation
- Lead projects of moderate scope and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Very strong commercial acumen and ability to develop cost models and cost benefit analysis
- This position is an office-based role with quite a bit of travel and visits to suppliers and other RWE Americas office and field locations
- Must be able to sit, walk, or stand for long durations of time
