Job Description:
•Working in compliance with all health and safety rules and regulations for Cementation.
•Monitoring any health and safety hazards or infractions and reporting same to HealthSafety Department.
•Participating in the office safety program.
•Creating letters, memos, and communications regarding healthsafety for the workforce
•Creating spread sheets, summaries, and matrices as required.
•Assisting with the administration of health and safety projects as required.
•Aiding with the development of safety resources materials.
•Assisting with data entry and integration of safety related software.
•Recommending measures to help protect workers from potentially hazardous work methods, processes, or materials.
•Ordering suspension of activities that pose threats to workers' health or safety if in the field performing Industrial Hygiene duties.
•Developing or maintaining hygiene programs, such as noise surveys, continuous atmosphere monitoring, ventilation surveys, or asbestos management plans.
•Collecting samples of dust, gases, vapors, or other potentially toxic materials for analysis.
•Investigating the adequacy of ventilation, exhaust equipment, lighting, or other conditions that could affect employee health, comfort, or performance.
•Providing new-employee health and safety orientations and develop materials for these presentations.
•Inspecting specified areas to ensure the presence of fire prevention equipment, safety equipment, or first-aid supplies.
Minimum Qualifications:
•Certificate of Completion for 40-Hour Underground New Miner Training.
•Certificate of Completion for 10 hours of OSHA training.
•Knowledge of safety standards for underground mining environments.
•Knowledge of Industrial hygiene sampling and reporting in an underground environment.
•Knowledge of safety management and industrial hygiene sampling data storage software.
•Knowledge of International Standards and MSHA standards specific to underground mining.
•Knowledge of risk management principles and research methods for safety and health equipment selection.
•20% domestic travel required.
Work Location: 10150 Centennial Pkwy, STE 400 Sandy, UT 84070
Hours of work: Usually 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday
