Job Overview:
The Field Safety Specialist is responsible for ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards within our HVAC, Plumbing, Weatherization, and Electrical departments. This role includes conducting inspections, training personnel, managing incidents, and promoting a culture of safety in high-risk environments.
Responsibilities and Duties:
•Train field personnel on safety protocols, incident reporting, and root cause analysis.
•Lead safety meetings and conduct emergency drills.
•Inspect job sites to ensure the Company's safety program and OSHA compliance.
•Preplan startup jobsite safety assessments.
•Perform written jobsite safety inspections and policy reviews and take immediate corrective action as assigned.
•Educate employees on regulatory compliance and company policies.
•Investigate and analyze bodily injury and property damage accidents
•Respond to incidents and injuries at job sites.
•Compile and issue regular accident report summaries
•Investigate accidents and prepare detailed root cause reports.
•Manage workers' compensation reporting and follow-up procedures.
•Conduct health, safety, and environmental (HSE) audits and site inspections.
•Verify the proper handling and storage of hazardous materials.
•Ensure accuracy in documentation for safety and environmental compliance.
•Assist with weekly Supervisor's and monthly safety meetings
•Identify and handle project management personnel needing assistance, training, or discipline in meeting Corporate safety guidelines and goals
•Ability to recognize and analyze Company trends with respect to Company accidents
•Provides required safety orientation for newly hired employees.
•Provides required safety training for all employees on an ongoing basis.
•Maintain safety supplies.
Requirements:
•Associate's degree (preferred)
•Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, and industry-specific regulations
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills
•Ability to work independently and in teams
•Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities
•Must have an active California Driver’s License
•Must have a clean driving record
•Minimum 2 years of experience as a Safety Specialist in construction or a similar trade
•Must have strong communication skills
•Must have basic computer skills
•EPA Certification is a PLUS
•Possess current OSHA 30-hour training in Construction Health & Safety within the past 2 years
•Spanish speaker is a Plus
•1-2 years of experience with the ESA Program is a plus
•Must pass a seven-year background check

Compensation:
$21.50-25.00 per hour
