Support the achievement of production and quality objectives by ensuring overall plant effectiveness is maximized by providing timely responses to equipment issues and to ensure the reliability of all production equipment. Manage the overall operations of the maintenance function by developing and managing effective reliability-centered maintenance programs and developing preventative maintenance schedules. Manage the day to day operations of the maintenance functions by executing the preventative maintenance schedules, supporting and implementing changes, continuous improvement initiatives, providing a safe work environment and providing a timely response to equipment issues.
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the people, machinery, equipment and building structure for the Plant and Office campus. This person will interact with all functional organizations in the facility and be responsible for ensuring achievement of departmental operational targets. The Maintenance Supervisor will work extensively with the Plant Manager to align maintenance functions with the overall daily production operations to maximize overall plant effectiveness. The Maintenance Supervisor must possess a core understanding of the production processes and systems and plant facilities. The employee must have the ability to learn as well as to instruct and develop others in the maintaining of the equipment and facilities.
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading and directing Maintenance Technicians and other personnel. The employee is responsible for monitoring equipment reliability at regular levels to expose problems and see that quality standards are maintained. The employee will be involved in day to day operations and continuous improvement activities, enforce company rules and regulations and safety rules and regulations. The employee will establish performance expectations of the departmental employees; observe and evaluate employees in meeting the performance standards.
The Maintenance Supervisor will act in a professional manner and set a positive example by exhibiting leadership qualities including motivating, training, planning, communicating, problem solving and staffing when managing the department.
· High School degree or equivalent and ten (10) plus years of demonstrated maintenance floor leadership or an Associate’s degree in an industrial or manufacturing technology field, business management and five (5) years of foundry maintenance experience.
· Advanced knowledge in the following areas: blue prints, hydraulics, pneumatics, electricity, electronics, electrical troubleshooting, pipefitting, industrial rigging, mechanical drives, bulk handling conveyors, and machine installation in a heavy industrial foundry environment.
· A working knowledge of all processes and equipment in the foundry
· Knowledge or exposure to ISO 9001 quality systems or equivalent.
