Position Summary
The Assistant Night Maintenance Supervisor will support the Night Maintenance Supervisor in managing the night maintenance department at our facility. You will assist in overseeing projects, leading maintenance staff, and ensuring safety guidelines are followed. This role combines hands-on maintenance responsibilities with leadership and coordination duties. You will report directly to the Night Maintenance Supervisor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Upholding and enforcing the policies of the company including safety and environmental as well as general company policy.
- Assisting the Night Maintenance Supervisor in managing the maintenance staff with regards to safety, work designation, productivity, discipline, and attendance.
- Under the direction of the Night Maintenance Supervisor, help schedule maintenance projects and communicate with the department.
- Provide leadership and guidance to maintenance staff, mentoring team members to grow skills and confidence.
- Ensure that the production plant is in a “ready to run state” at the end of the maintenance shift.
- Be trained in all support equipment as well as critical safety policies such as Lockout Tag Out, Fall Protection, and Confined Space.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as paperwork, time and attendance entry, ordering parts and supplies, and maintaining inventory of tools and materials
- Identify and troubleshoot issues with industrial equipment such as conveyors, hydraulics, electrical, and pneumatics.
- Recommend improvements in processes, safety, and performance to the Night Maintenance Supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships within a diverse multicultural environment.
- Strong leadership skills and knowledge of maintenance concepts.
- Proficiency in hand tool usage, mechanical ability, some equipment operation, problem-solving, and
- Effective written and verbal communication.
- Basic to intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- High school diploma/GED preferred
- 2–3 years of industrial maintenance experience; 1+ years of lead or assistant supervisory experience preferred.- Welding and/or industrial repair experience strongly preferred.
- Must be motivated and able to work both independently and in teams.
