The Network Administrator II is an intermediate administrative role supporting network device configuration, performance monitoring, and security compliance under the direction and guidance of the Network Engineer. Provide Tier 1 and 2 support for network equipment by configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems to ensure reliable and secure operation. Perform routine maintenance, updates, and backups while implementing security policies and best practices to maintain infrastructure stability and compliance. Assist with capacity planning, network expansion, and disaster recovery efforts. Continuously develop knowledge of vendor technologies and industry standards through independent research and learning.
- Network Equipment Support:
- Assist in configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting network devices (routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points)
- Proactively identify network performance issues, research solutions, and implement fixes to ensure reliable operation
- Support routine maintenance, updates, and backups of network configurations.
- Implement security policies to ensure infrastructure stability and compliance
- Research and apply network security best practices to maintain a secure environment
- General Network Administration:
- Provide Tiers 1 and 2 support for network-related incidents, using strong problem-solving skills to resolve issues efficiently
- Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, troubleshooting steps and resolutions
- Assist in capacity planning and network expansion projects, researching potential problems and solutions
- Contribute to disaster recovery planning and testing for network and cloud infrastructures
- Collaboration and Research:
- Work closely with the Network Engineer and IT team to address technical challenges and implement solutions approved by the Network Engineer
- Demonstrate resourcefulness by researching answers through technical documentation, online forums, and vendor resources to resolve issues independently
- Communicate findings and proposed solutions clearly to team members and stakeholders
- Stay updated on vendor and industry standards by actively seeking out learning opportunities
Reports to the Infrastructure and Operations Manager. Works under the Network Engineer direction and guidance. Collaborate with the IT team to troubleshoot and resolve network related issues.
The initial compensation will range from $84,300 to $96,950
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or equivalent from an accredited college or university recognized by the United States Department of Education or equivalent. Relevant work experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
- Years of Experience:
- Two years of experience in network administration or a related IT role.
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting network devices.
- Software/Equipment Knowledge:
- Understanding of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs)
- Experience with network monitoring tools
- Awareness of network security practices, including firewalls and secure access controls
- Basic scripting skills for automation tasks (preferred)

- Strong communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively and share solutions.
- Able to prioritize tasks and manage time in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues.

- Ability to learn quickly and work to address challenges under the Network Engineer’s guidance.
- Full-time position with occasional on-call responsibilities for network projects and emergencies
- Issaquah hybrid work model (on-site and remote, depending on organizational needs)
