Administers, monitors, and maintains voice and data infrastructure that supports enterprise and utility-specific networks across the corporation, including but not limited to, LAN/WAN, routers, switches, firewalls, virtualization platforms, wired/wireless devices, personal computing hardware, structured cabling, and associated peripheral equipment and software. Ensures availability, performance, and security through high-level support, complex troubleshooting, and specialized knowledge in a manner that complies with applicable NERC and SERC standards, as required coupled with other industry standards and best practices. Key responsibilities include configuring network hardware and software, performing network audits, providing technical guidance to junior staff, and collaborating on network planning, design, and strategy.
- Plan, implement, and upgrade complex network architectures, including multi-segment infrastructure using various technologies and protocols.
- Install, configure, monitor, and maintain network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls), servers, and virtualization platforms.
- Continuously monitor network performance and proactively optimize resources to ensure maximum uptime, reliability, and efficiency for organization’s network operations. This involves analyzing network traffic, capacity planning, and implementing necessary upgrades.
- Perform ongoing maintenance, configure network services, upgrade hardware, conduct capacity planning to ensure network health and optimize performance
- Plans and implement scalable LAN/WAN and VPN infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless networks.
- Plans, maintains, supports, and documents structured cabling, performing moves, adds and changes of voice and data cabling as required.
- Provide high-level, expert support for complex network issues, drives resolution to network connectivity, hardware failures, and telephone matters, lead root cause analysis for critical outages, and may offer guidance and day-to-day direction with work activity of Network Administrator and PC Technicians
- Ensures accurate records, documents and diagrams of the voice and data structured cabling are maintained.
- Assists in the support and management of all wireless communication devices.
- Installs, maintains, and supports voice and data network equipment while minimizing service impact.
- Removes and properly disposes of defective or obsolete equipment in compliance with SECI procedures.
- Coordinate with vendors for installations and maintenance activities, manage contracts, contribute to project proposal for network connectivity and upgrades, and update management accordingly.
- Research, test, and implement business continuity plans to ensure network resilience
- Implement and maintain cloud-base network solutions and support communications system, as needed.
- Engages in network design, architecture, and strategy.
- Plan, lead, and execute network-related projects, such as system upgrades, infrastructure expansions, and new technology implementation. This includes vendor coordination, project budgeting and timeline management.
- Identify, recommend, and lead improvement initiatives related to processes, techniques, technology adoption including hardware and software options.

- NERC Compliance: Performs NERC Compliance Program roles if/as designated in Seminole’s Standard Ownership Matrix (SOM) including ongoing evidence retention in “audit-ready” form. You should also be familiar with Seminole’s Enterprise Internal Compliance Program (ENT-GCD-RGC-EP-054) to further your understanding of Seminole’s compliance program and the context of your duties and responsibilities attendant to your designation in the SOM.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, computer engineering, management information system or network administration from an accredited university. At least five (5) years of progressive experience in an information technology and/or computing environment with at least three (3) years of direct experience as a network administrator installing, monitoring, and/or maintaining complex voice and data networks in a medium to large scale organization.

Must be able to follow established protective measures including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE). Must possess a valid driver’s license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Report.
Some travel and work outside of normal business hours. While working in certain areas of the plant there is the potential for exposure to hazards typical of an industrial working environment. Must be capable of working extra hours and/or weekends when necessary to complete a project on time. Must be available on a 24-hour basis in the event of a system malfunction that requires assistance.
