Company Overview
RESCo Energy is a full service solar engineering, procurement, construction and operation company. The Service department ensures the optimal operation of approximately 300 solar PV energy plants across Ontario & Canada. The role of the Solar Monitoring Analyst and Systems Designer requires an enthusiastic candidate who has a strong interest in renewable energy design, and is excited to grow their skillset and knowledge in the field. This individual is responsible for ensuring all solar assets are operating at their optimal level on a daily basis, as well as supporting RESCo’s design team with new projects being developed. This position reports to the Manager of Technology and Innovation.
Responsibilities
•Review production of each solar asset daily to ensure production is as expected via unique monitoring platforms and review of alarm emails;
•Communicate urgent issues in a timely fashion to the Service Coordinator;
•Ongoing review of monitoring email account and reporting issues to the Service Coordinator;
•Onboard new projects by updating various platforms including Google Earth, daily monitoring tracker, Fleetmatics and setting new clients up on monitoring platforms
•Communicate with field technicians on site to troubleshoot and resolve issues being experienced by solar assets;
•Communicate with monitoring platform vendors to ensure accurate reporting and troubleshoot issues;
•Communicate with clients as necessary to alert them to issues, answer their queries and coordinate repair
•Communicate with utilities to monitor power outages and coordinate utility lock removals
•Process monthly, quarterly and annual production reports for clients as required
•Setting up automated production reports on monitoring platforms for clients, as needed
•Notify the Service Coordinator of expiring subscriptions on monitoring platforms in a timely manner
•Accompany field technicians periodically to gain hands-on experience
•Streamlining and optimization of the monitoring process
•Providing daily support and assistance to the Service Coordinator
•Provide coverage for Service Coordinator as necessary (ie vacation coverage, absences)
•Other related items may be assigned
•Assist the Design department with system design tasks as availability allows, which may include:
•Design package drawing generation using AutoCAD
•Feasibility sales analysis using Helioscope & PVSyst software
•Site visits and field data collection.
•Attending design meetings as an active participant
Requirements
•Interest in renewable energy systems design is required
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required
•Knowledge of design, functioning and operation of solar facilities is an asset
•Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Teams required
•AutoCAD skills are required.
