Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Near Surface Technical Services General Supervisor, you will be part of the Near Surface Department. You will be responsible for marking up development lines, development pick-ups, long-hole drill ring mark-ups, CMS surveys, drill hole gyro tests, updating survey drawings, issuing survey plans and doing month end calculations. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Survey control points advanced, data downloaded and entered into Deswik or other related programs;
- Update all Deswik level plans on an as needed basis;
- Provide reference tools for the mine department to operate effectively/accurately;
- Issue development-heading updates;
- Survey of production hole’s toes and collars and perform gyro tests to support drill and blast design;
- Survey all diamond drill holes, service holes, and others as requested;
- Cavity monitor surveys of all stopes, raises, etc.;
- Provide survey support to operations in both underground and surface locations;
- Track and report monthly advance of mine development and rehabilitation;
- Ore and concentrate stockpile measurement on a bi-monthly basis;
- Perform routine check surveys to ensure precision and accuracy are maintained in all mine survey data and control points;
- Keep track of required survey equipment calibration and repairs;
- Complete all survey month-end calculations accurately and within a timely manner;
- Perform other duties, as required.
- Survey/Engineering Technical Diploma (2 years or greater required) or equivalent experience;
- Minimum 2 years' experience in underground operating mine sites;
- Proficiency with Deswik or other underground mining survey and design software;
- Accuracy and attention to detail;
- Working knowledge of mine design software is an asset (Deswik, AutoCAD, Promine,);
- Knowledge of total station setting;
- Ability to use and calibrate associated survey equipment;
- Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications, especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
