Role Overview
This role is to facilitate the growth of Thiess mine reclamation service offerings in North America. This role involves identifying reclamation opportunities in growth regions and supporting the development of the new work pipeline, with a focus on ongoing client engagement and work winning. The Mine Reclamation Advisor will project manage the development of both solicited and unsolicited proposals, as well as working on the technical and costing elements of proposals in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the Thiess North America Business Plan implementation, with agreed targets on work winning revenue
- Identify reclamation opportunities (USA and Canada) and pursue agreed opportunities
- Engage and manage clients and potential clients on an ongoing account management basis
- Assist in the development and execution of the Thiess North America strategy and action plan and perform allocated tasks on the action plan
- Look for opportunities to value add or incorporate innovation into our projects with sustainable solutions
- Provide technical advice to reclamation projects to ensure requirements are understood to meet clients’ and legislative requirements
- Market analysis of target growth regions (regulatory approvals/schedule review)
- Complete internal monthly reclamation reporting as required
- Lead reclamation tenders and provide technical support to tender estimate inputs
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Mine site reclamation experience, environmental remediation or heavy civil earthworks experience
- Engineering design capabilities with experience in Vulcan or Deswik (highly regarded)
- Highly effective communication, both written and oral
- Skills in Client/ stakeholder/ business relationship management
- Effective high-level influencing skills
- Strong environmental and reclamation legislative knowledge
- Sound understanding of mine site environmental issues
- Project management experience
- Contracts management experience
- Degree in Mine engineering/ Environmental Management/ Science or equivalent
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- Occasional in-state, out-of-state, and out-of-country travel to meet with suppliers or perform site visits
- Ability to attend and participate in meetings
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at time

- Full-Time position with standard office hours (M-F, 8-5) In office
- Domestic and Regional travel required
- Current/valid passport
- Authorization to work lawfully in the USA without sponsorship from Thiess is required
- Must be fluent in the English language
