The main purpose and function of the Mine Maintenance Supervisor is to schedule regular equipment maintenance, track and maintain records of service intervals, tire rotations, and part replacements of mine and hauling equipment.
Specific responsibilities may include:
•Oversee the day-to-day operations of the mine maintenance department.
•Manage and coordinate the activities of Mine Maintenance employees in the maintenance and repair of equipment.
•Ensure mine and hauling equipment are available to meet production demands and maintenance costs fall within acceptable limits.
•Coordinate and schedule routine maintenance and repairs.
•Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, parts inventory, and fuel usage.
•Manage relationships with vendors and service providers.
•Train and mentor maintenance employees in safety procedures and best practices.
•Conduct regular inspections to identify and fix potential equipment and safety issues.

•Regularly coaches and provides both strength-centered and constructive feedback to employees on goal progress and competencies.
•Encourages and supports career goals of employees; helps to create plans, offer resources and create or suggests opportunities for growth.
•Transfer knowledge and experience about process, project and recent issues to employees and others involved outside the team or department.
•Identify and document environmental aspects and impacts relative to Maintenance operations.
•Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and best practices including those related to health, safety, and environment.
•Support and participate in the organization’s Continual Improvement Program and Quality Management System.
•Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Education and training:
•High school diploma or equivalent; Degree from a vocational school preferred.
•Basic reading, writing and comprehension.
Experience:
•Proven experience as a maintenance supervisor or similar role
•Knowledge of equipment operation, mining, scheduling, and maintenance.
Knowledge and Skills:
•Problem solving skills: ability to identify source of problem; execute solution and document the issue; escalate to management.
•Excellent employee management, leadership, coaching and motivations skills.
•Demonstrates clear, concise and relevant communication (verbal and written) across all departments and shares information.
•Listens effectively; is approachable and creates an open environment.
•MS Office with focus on Outlook, Word, and Excel.
•EAM software package experience.
•Regulatory requirements for mining operations.
•Aptitude for equipment operations and troubleshooting.
•Valid driver’s license required with the ability for light travel.
