The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a
Mine Operations Superintendentto join our
Glencore Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations in Greater Sudbury, Ontario.The position will be based in Greater Sudbury (Onaping), Ontario.
This is a full-time, permanent, staff position.
Work location is not accessible by public transportation.
Duties and Accountabilities:
Reporting to the Director – Mining, Onaping Depth Project, the Mine Operations Superintendent is accountable for the preparation, planning and safe execution of all the development aspects coming off the Onaping Depth Shaft at a depth of 2.6Km. The position works in close collaboration with the Maintenance, Safety, Engineering and Construction teams on site to advance the project. This role will also be responsible for ramping up mine production. Several key raisebore jobs are also included in this scope of this work. The Project Phase will continue into mid 2026.

Education And Skills
The successful candidate requires a university degree in Mine Engineering or a minimum of 15 years of development related work, where experience in “high-speed” development projects and in optimizing the development cycle would be considered an asset. Strong managerial skills with excellent communication and organizational skills and a commitment to safe execution will be required for success. Experience within a unionized environment would be a benefit. Proven negotiation and influencing skills along with the ability to identify, recommend and implement cost effective efficiencies to improve overall operational performance are key.
