Purpose
To provide excellent mine engineering guidance for the Mine Department of Lion One.
Key Accountabilities or Activities
•Lead by example in promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and collaborate safety initiatives with the Safety Manager.
•Create engineering products including, but not limited to the overall mine plan, production forecasts and schedules, mine development and production designs, ventilation designs and plans, dewatering designs and plans, etc.
•Drive the development of strategic forecasts including, annual budget and life-of-mine (LOM).
•Collaborate with Mine Geology and Metallurgy to drive scheduling metrics to achieve process plant blending requirements.
•Provide support for operational QAQC functions as required for key operational tasks (i.e., blasting mining, and/or drilling)
•Foster effective communication and collaboration with other mine site personnel to optimize overall mine site operations.
•Contribute to accurate mining reconciliation and maintain a comprehensive stope reconciliation program.
•Produce or review weekly, production reports which may include assessments of key drivers, risks, costs and overall operational plan for relevant site and corporate stakeholders.

Position Required Capabilities
Skills:
•Ability to work well under pressure
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Minimum of 5 years engineering experience in an underground mining operation
•Ability to schedule and priorities tasks.
•Have an understanding and strong commitment for workplace health and safety
•A positive, can- do driven attitude
•Excellent Time Management Skills
Knowledge:
•Good practical understanding of Drilling and Mining methods
•Demonstrated proficiency with Deswik
•Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
•Robust understanding of ventilation and dewatering
•A practicing member with good standing in a regulatory organization
Experience:
•Minimum of 5 years industry experience as a Senior Mine Engineer
Education, Qualifications, Tickets, Licenses:
•B.Sc. or MSc Degree in Mine Engineering
